Everything is Plankable

Yes. Yes it is. Anything you see can be planked, you just have to look for its potential! Sometimes the best things to plank are ordinary objects like tables, signposts and counters. Even animals are extremely fun to plank!
And remember kids, if you see something remotely plankable, plank it.

Welcome

I welcome you to my blog. It's about planking. No, this is not a blog about the wooden 2x4's as the backround image may imply, but rather about the extreme sport of planking. For those of you who dont know, planking is the art of lying down like a plank, with stiffened arms and legs, in socially awkward and dangerous positions.
Planking is claimed to have been invented by Gary Clarkson and Christian Langdon in 1997, but lacked public interest and financial support. The sport was revived in September 2009, when seven doctors and nurses working at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, England were suspended for planking while on duty. Planking rapidly spread to the rest of the world where it has also been known as "시체놀이" ("playing dead") in South Korea, "à plat ventre" ("On one’s belly"), in France, and "facedowns" in the USA.
Of course it was the Australians who really brought the sport to life in late 2010 and established a complex rating system and it is now accepted as a legitimate sport. The sport recently reached us here in South Africa and we've been working underground on some radical moves and techniques. Heres what we have to offer! Enjoy and keep on planking!
